Grout Haze On Marble

To remove grout haze cement latex modified and epoxy that has dried on polished acid sensitive stone surfaces.

Most grout haze removers are acidic and will etch the marble dulling the surface and ruining the finish. Apply the grout remover. Remove grout haze with water and cheesecloth. Fill a sponge with water wring most of it.

Dampen the grout haze with pure water first to see if that removes it. Fill a bucket halfway with warm water using about a gallon of water. Grout can be cleaned with harsher chemicals and utensils than marble can. Because it is a polished marble made of calcium carbonate it makes it acid sensitive.

Grout haze and residue is typically removed with an acid solution after the tile is. Brush away loose grout. Wring thoroughly as too much water can damage. Try a sugar.

Protect your hands with rubber gloves and dip your cheesecloth or terry cloth in water. Move to chemical grout remover if the sponge and water don t work.
